Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive in Arusha, where you’ll meet your guide and fellow trekkers. Spend the day resting and preparing for your adventure ahead. Overnight at a hotel in Arusha.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
After breakfast, drive to the Machame Gate to begin your trek. Hike through dense rainforest, enjoying the sights and sounds of the lush vegetation. Arrive at Machame Camp (3,010 meters) for dinner and overnight camping.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Continue your ascent through the forest, emerging into moorland landscapes. Trek along rocky ridges and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Reach Shira Camp (3,845 meters) for dinner and overnight camping.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Trek across the Shira Plateau, marveling at the vastness of the terrain. Ascend to Lava Tower (4,600 meters), where you’ll acclimatize to the altitude before descending to Barranco Camp (3,960 meters) for dinner and overnight camping.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Embark on the challenging Barranco Wall ascent, navigating its steep sections with the help of your guide. Traverse scenic valleys and rocky terrain, eventually reaching Karanga Camp (3,995 meters) for dinner and overnight camping.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Continue your ascent towards the arctic summit zone, trekking through alpine desert landscapes. Arrive at Barafu Camp (4,640 meters), your final camp before the summit attempt. Rest and prepare for the summit push.
Day 7: Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Rise before dawn for the summit attempt. Trek through the darkness, guided by the light of your headlamp, towards Stella Point (5,756 meters). From there, continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa, to witness a breathtaking sunrise. Descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) for dinner and overnight camping.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descend through lush rainforest, enjoying the final stretch of your trek. Arrive at Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your guides and porters. Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved celebration and overnight stay
